Hey Bosnia is a black comic adventure story in which a slightly over-the-hill rocker, NICK DONATO, and his wife, slightly over-the-hill supermodel DONNA SPARKS, travel to Bosnia during the war in order to help SISTER JEANNE MCGILL in her humanitarian efforts and, perhaps, breathe new life into their marriage and careers. They soon find themselves in over their heads, escorting a convoy of food, medical supplies and (unbeknownst to them) weapons over a treacherous mountain road, accompanied by JEANNE, tough-talking mercenary SPRINGER and earnest TV journalist MARCUS MARSHALL. Everything goes wrong and, when they at last arrive, too late, at their destination, the accumulation of outrage leads NICK to lose control and precipitate a final disaster. All this is watched and commented on by BABS and WALTER, a couch-potato Greek chorus, whose perceptions of the events are conditioned by MARCUS’s commentary and their own short attention spans.

The play is meant to be produced with a minimum of means, allowing the audience to imagine the setting, the truck, and often other characters.
